Chapter Vice PresidentKadence McMinnKadence McMinn has grown up deeply connected to agriculture, where working with animals has always been more than just a responsibility—it has been a passion. From a young age, she became involved in 4-H, raising and showing livestock and learning firsthand the dedication it takes to care for animals every day. These early experiences taught Kadence valuable life skills such as responsibility, time management, patience, and perseverance, while also shaping her love for animal care and agriculture. Kadence officially began her agricultural education classes during the 2022–2023 school year, when she enrolled in Applied Agricultural Biological Systems. From that point on, agriculture became a central part of her education. She continued building her knowledge through additional agriculture courses each year, including Agricultural Business Systems and Agriscience, which further strengthened her understanding of animal science and agricultural practices. Through her Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs), Kadence has raised and shown dairy animals and beef steers, gaining extensive hands-on experience in animal nutrition, health management, and daily care. Managing these projects required long hours, attention to detail, and commitment, but they also provided her with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Working closely with her animals strengthened her understanding of livestock production and reinforced her desire to pursue a career in large animal veterinary medicine. Kadence’s involvement in FFA has played a major role in both her personal and professional growth. Through FFA, she has participated in leadership activities, conferences, and competitions that challenged her to step outside of her comfort zone. Competing in Veterinary Science events has been especially influential, allowing her to expand her knowledge of animal anatomy, health practices, and veterinary procedures while developing teamwork and critical thinking skills. These experiences helped Kadence gain confidence in her abilities and further clarified her career goals. In addition to career development events, FFA has provided Kadence with opportunities to serve others and give back to her community. Through leadership roles and involvement in service activities, she has learned the importance of responsibility, communication, and leading by example. The friendships, mentorships, and experiences gained through FFA have left a lasting impact and helped shape who she is today. Kadence’s long-term goal is to become a large animal veterinarian specializing in equine medicine. She hopes to one day own and operate her own veterinary business, where she can combine her passion for animal care with leadership and service to the agricultural community. With the strong foundation built through 4-H, FFA, and agricultural education, Kadence continues to work toward her goals with determination, gratitude, and a deep appreciation for the opportunities agriculture has provided her.
